Now, anyone who's worked with me in any kind of support role knows my version of Ray Kroc's truism "The customer is always right." Me? I say "The customer is always stupid." And, invariably, I'm vindicated at some point every day. Today was no exception.
Support staff:
Hi Geoff.
Is this still happening, or was it a one-off occurrence?
Customer:
Yes
Yes? Yes?! Fine, the question could've been worded more precisely, but when you're seeking to help someone who's getting duplicated delivery of hundreds of e-mails you expect them to cut you a little slack. Geeks, not poets, are the ones who keep e-mail alive.
So remember, be nice to the geeks in your life. Geeks are people too.
